Tempera Paint

In this 45-minute module Cristy Maltese discusses characteristics and management of tempera paint. 

An artist covers up a portion of a painted pattern with a piece of paper; when they lift the paper, it is revealed that they stamped in a new blue paint shape.

Materials
Needed

  • liquid tempera paint

  • shallow water container

  • paper towels

  • palette (e.g., paper plate, plastic wells, tray)

  • heavy paper/board (e.g., cardstock, construction paper, cardboard)

  • painters' tape

  • wide paintbrush

  • leaf

  • pencil

  • scissors

  • gluestick
