Lesson 1. Possibilities with Papers, Adhesives, & Collage
[length 34:33] Jessica Krichels introduces many types of paper found in the Sitka School District. She highlights a few characteristics of each kind before diving into projects involving copy paper (white and colored, including Astrobrights), construction paper, tagboard, and cardstock.
Suggested Materials: papers, glue stick, liquid "school" glue, scissors, scotch tape, a pencil, and a ruler.
Lesson 2.
More Possibilities with Papers, Adhesives, & Collage
[length 34:41] Jessica Krichels spotlights several types of adhesives (glues and tape) often found within Sitka School District. As the projects demonstrated are slightly more advanced, it may be helpful to watch the entire lesson before selecting a project to try.
Project-dependent materials: white drawing paper, tagboard, a large rubber band, butcher paper, markers, a stapler, Modge-Podge, liquid school glue mixed with water (2/3 to 1/3), a paint brush, white tissue paper, colorful tissue paper, construction paper, scissors, and string.
Lesson 3.
Mixing Together Possibilities
[length 20:40] Jessica Krichels highlights complex paper and adhesive projects, emphasizing studies of cultures and activities which combine multiple elements of art.
Project-dependent materials: watercolor-friendly paper, watercolor paints, book pages (discarded or photocopied), black sharpie, piece of cardboard, strong scissors, glue gun, packing tape, construction paper. You also will need to create black glue by combining liquid school glue and black tempera paint into a squeeze bottle (instructions at 1:10 in video).
